Today we took the scenic route to Ullapool to explore new territory.
Tom got some fancy new shoes, we bought some prints for the house and another bottle of whisky. I’d say it was to add to the collection but we were back down to two bottles after finishing the Laphroig and Jura the other night!
We bumped into Susan and Eoghain and got ourselves a calender of his from the market.
On our way back we picked up a hitchhiker who used to work at the Torridon hotel over 5 years ago! Now we have a place to crash further north should we need it!
Back home, Tom’s cooking and I’m relaxing. Gooooood times! Xxx
Yesterday we went to Oban for the day to test out some sea kayaks for Torridon Activities 🙂
We drove there for lunch then went paddling in the bay in some rather drizzly weather but it was loads of fun. I quite like sea kayaking! We tried out 3 boats each and a tandem which was awesome!! Like paddling a bath tub!
After that we went for a well earnt meal at Cuan Mor restaurant on the sea front, the weather cleared up and we got a rather pleasant evening.
A stroll along the harbour apres dinner and it was time to drive back.
Made it back and into bed by midnight. A long journey but well worth it 🙂
Kyle turned 27 today so to celebrate we had a party on a peninsula last night.
Whisky, fire and dancing around it was the order of the night, and everyone let off a bit of steam being far enough away from the hotel to shout as loud as they liked!
A Land Rover ambulance full of drunk people on an off road track made it a fun journey back too! Happy birthday Kyle. It was awesome!
Inverness today for food shopping, but first, lunch out. Served by the barman from Twin Peaks and a waiter who I’m pretty sure was near blind… It was an interesting place but the food wasn’t bad at all.
A wander round poundland (had to be done) and shopping for my sister’s birthday (no, not in poundland) then morrisons and home to the midges and a noisy cat!
A chilled night ahead and back to work tomorrow. Night all!
Yesterday was perfect Torridon bouldering weather, windy and sunny, no midges for a change! Woo! We got out up to the Celtic Stones and touched rock for the first time since we got here, it was ace.
I had bought a kite from the countryside centre before we went, which gave me 5 minutes of hysterical fun much to Tom’s disgust (he was 2 metres up at the time) before karma got me when he fell off and pushed me over onto it and it broke. R.I.P kite!!
We ended the day with a couple beers, a takeaway from the Inn (yes another one) and a few hours of youtube videos! A good day 🙂
A rare evening off and we were treated to a beautiful rainbow and sunset 🙂
Yesterday I had a much needed shift in the garden again! 🙂
I weeded for most the day, being followed by a robin who ate all the worms I turned over. It was a Snow White moment if there ever was one!
I weeded the strawberry patch too, and planted about 30 new plants from the runners. Next year’s patch will be mega!
Andy dug up the ‘neeps and tatties and gave me a few to take home, as well as some shallots, red onions and some of the best smelling garlic I’ve come across! Tea tonight will be awesome!
Gah! Damn you lovely little house, making me do this on my day off!
Although, the childhood bears got a long overdue wash.
