Shieldaig fête happened on the first weekend in August. Starting on the Friday night with the local raft race then a party and food in the village hall. Many curries were eaten and songs were danced to.
Saturday kicked off with the Rowing Regatta and the motorbike trial with the Isle of Skye trials club, which went on most of the day. The street stalls opened at 1pm. Lots of local seafood and crafts, raffles, tea and coffee, face painting by me, and Archery provided by Shieldaig Outdoor Adventures.
Saturday night brought camping on the seafront with friends and the street ceilidh. Shame the weather had other ideas! Torrential rain put a damper on the dancing but I managed to get Tom to dance the Canadian barn dance with me before we ran for cover!
Sunday was a morning of rest, then they boys headed out to catch dinner and Iona and I took five dogs out walking! A lovely afternoon had by all and a fish supper 🙂
Oh, and I found a lady’s bag, and got some sunflowers in return 🙂
Have a cool week!
